What’s New On the Uconnect 5 System?Nov 23rd, 2021
Vehicle connectivity technology has been a huge part of vehicles for years now, with (almost) everyone owning a smartphone, and wanting to stay in touch while operating their vehicle. Of course, doing anything on your smartphone while driving—texting, fiddling with your music, making a phone call, trying to navigate—is a huge distraction, and one that can lead to a serious accident. But thanks to advanced connectivity systems like Chrysler’s Uconnect, you now have hands-free access to your phone while driving, as well as an intuitive system allowing you to focus on the road while still being able to navigate or adjust your music among other things.
While Uconnect has been one of the industry’s leading infotainment systems, it’s the all-new Uconnect 5 that is taking things to a whole new level. Up to five times faster, more intuitive, and offering more capability, Uconnect 5 is the most advanced infotainment system on the market today. Read on to learn more about the new Uconnect 5 system with your home for all things Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram: Golden Mile Chrysler!
What’s new on Uconnect 5?
In addition to being five times faster than previous Uconnect systems, this fifth-generation technology adds some slick new capability into the fold.
Multiple user profiles
One of the great new features in the Uconnect 5 system is the ability to add multiple user profiles. In doing so, you’re able to save the settings, customized screens, and preferences for each of the drivers in your house (up to five different profiles). Uconnect 5 even lets you hook up two devices at the same time!
Another unique aspect of Uconnect 5 is the ability to customize your screens. With a variety of layouts, you can use multiple apps at once, dividing up the screen by what’s most important to you.
Amazon Alexa Onboard
With Amazon Alexa for the Uconnect 5 system, you can utilize voice integration software to do everything from changing the temperature in the cabin, to asking for news and traffic updates, access or create a list, lock and unlock your doors, and more.
One of the most helpful new features in the Uconnect 5 system has to be the over-the-air updates. Every night, without being prompted, your Uconnect 5 system will scan for updates to everything from maps to traffic, and more.
Another incredibly convenient aspect of Uconnect 5 is the ability to connect wirelessly. You can keep your phone in your pocket and still connect to the infotainment system. It also offers a static version of Apple CarPlay, meaning you will have access to Apple CarPlay and its apps even without an Apple smartphone.
What smartphones does Uconnect 5 work with?
While the Uconnect 5 system runs on an Android platform, you are able to use either an Android or Apple smartphone to stay connected. And with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality, it won’t matter which smartphone you use as you’ll still have access to all of Uconnect’s impressive functionality.
What vehicles offer Uconnect 5?
As Uconnect 5 is the newest version of the Uconnect infotainment systems, it is only available on select 2021 and 2022 models as of right now. While many more models are expected to adopt Uconnect 5 in the near future, you can find it on the following models:
