Design Differences between the Jeep Wagoneer & Grand WagoneerOct 15th, 2021
While some brands confuse being in business for a long time with having legacy, that will never be the case with Jeep. Forget for a moment that they invented the SUV—the Jeep lineup has seen countless vehicles over the years that have absolutely revolutionized the segment. One of those nameplates is set to return in 2022, bringing unparalleled luxury in tow, and that’s the Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer. Read on to learn more about what to expect from these two impressive and iconic vehicles with your home for all things Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram: Golden Mile Chrysler!
An Impressive Exterior
Built on the same platform, and offering the same interior layout, there doesn’t appear to be much in the way of differences between the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer. Upon closer inspection though, it’s a bit easier to tell the two apart. A more sophisticated grille starts things off, while chrome trim around the windows and copper-coloured window tint give the Grand Wagoneer a more luxurious appearance right off the bat. Both models offer roof racks and LED lighting, though the lights are upgraded on the Grand Wagoneer—and put on a bit of a show when you use the remote start.
Inside is really where the Grand Wagoneer starts to justify its larger price tag. The Wagoneer offers a standard centre touchscreen and digital dash, along with an available three entertainment screens found throughout the cabin. However, the top trim of the Grand Wagoneer offers 75-inches of display area over seven screens found in the dash and rear seats.
No Shortage of Space (or Comfort)
Being built on the same platform, to almost the exact same specs, the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer have a few things in common—the least of which is not interior space. Kick back in either of these palatial Jeep models and enjoy all of the head- and leg-room afforded to you. However, the materials are where the Grand Wagoneer once again takes a step forward. While both offer leather upholstery, the version found in the Grand Wagoneer is softer and more supple than that of the Wagoneer. Conversely, while the original Wagoneer models offered wood panelling on their exterior, only the 2022 Grand Wagoneer comes available with wood—in this case, the decadent American Walnut trim on the dash, doors, and centre console.
