Perhaps the most electrifying (sorry!) trend in the automotive industry today has to be the proliferation of electric-powered vehicles. With new technology providing a huge boost (sorry again) to battery life and range, not to mention capability, electric powertrains have finally caught up to their gas- and diesel-powered compatriots. So whether you’re looking to save the environment, or simply save money skipping the gas station, we’re going to take a look at the current electric vehicle options from the Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram lineups. These manufacturers are all a part of the Stellantis family, which has stated on record their plans to release at least one electric platform through each of these brands; while we’re still waiting to see every electric vehicle offered, you can read on to explore the current options below.

Current Electric Jeep Models

At the forefront of the electric vehicle movement for the Stellantis group of manufacturers, the following Jeep vehicles have proven that you can offer an electric powertrain with all the same capability as a gas-powered option. And when it comes to Jeep, that means even more capability than the competition!

2021 Jeep Wrangler 4xe

Offering the same classic, rugged styling that has gotten Jeep to the top of the mountain—in both a literal and figurative sense—the 2021 Jeep Wrangler 4xe brought a revolutionary spin to this off-road ready ride: a turbocharged plug-in hybrid electric vehicle engine. With 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque, the 2021 Wrangler 4xe doesn’t want for power, while an all-electric range of 34 kilometres means you can probably skip the gas station everyday of your weekday commute.

2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe

The newest option expected to hit Jeep dealerships at any moment, the 2022 Grand Cherokee 4xe provides the same combination of luxury and capability that has been a hallmark of this nameplate since it was first released. With an expected electric-only range of 40 km, and an electric-equivalent fuel economy rating of just 4.13 L/100 km, the hybrid powertrain found in the Grand Cherokee 4xe will provide the same horsepower and torque as the Wrangler 4xe—only in a vehicle that’s as at home on the city streets as it is in the wilderness.

Will Ram Make An Electric Pickup?

With torque a major driving force behind the utility of a pickup truck on the worksite, it should come as no surprise that pickup trucks have been the latest to appear with an electric powertrain option providing instant access to serious torque. Announced during the summer of 2021, an electric-powered Ram 1500—Ram’s flagship pickup—is expected to be released for the 2024 model year. Details are scarce at the moment, but we promise to update you as soon as we can on this powerful addition to the Ram 1500 lineup.

Are There Any Electric Vehicles From Chrysler or Dodge?

Chrysler and Dodge are two Stellantis manufacturers associated with producing superb minivan and muscle car options, respectively. While neither automaker has come out and expressly stated which model they would be updating with an electric powertrain, in the case of Dodge we can assume that whatever they choose will offer substantial horsepower without the heavy-duty bill at the tank often associated with large engine muscle cars.

2022 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid

In the case of Chrysler, the jury is out as to whether they electrify the luxurious Chrysler 300 or one of their stellar minivan choices, though they already produce an exceptionally efficient hybrid in the form of the 2022 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid. With a best-in-class fuel economy rating of just 2.7Le/100 km in the city, this lithium-ion-equipped hybrid powertrain provides more than enough juice to help this family-friendly ride navigate the city and highway with ease. A 51 kilometre all-electric driving range means you’ll have plenty of time to drive between charges, while a combined gas and electric hybrid driving range of 835 kilometres means you’ll spend more time on the road making memories, and less time pumping gas.

Whether you’re doing your part to save the planet or simply trying to save a bit for your kid’s college fund, the lineup of hybrid and electric vehicles from Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram are one smart way to do it. Of course, if you haven’t found anything suitable above you can always explore the full Golden Mile Chrysler model lineup, or even take a look at the special edition trims representing the best these brands have to offer. No matter what vehicle you’re looking to purchase, just swing on by Golden Mile Chrysler—the home of the Swinging Lady—for the best dealership experience you’ll find in the Greater Toronto Area!
